Our program is backed by research - Language Immersion learning is the best way to obtain a solid foundation in the target language, as kids are primed to learn languages between the ages of 0-6. By the time your child is 7, they lose the ability to hear sounds they’ve never heard before.

Immersion learning puts the language into context - our kids are carrying out daily tasks, socializing, and developing academic skills all within the target language! Students in Language Immersion programs see incredible benefits: higher executive functioning and attention spans, improved working memory, enhanced cognitive processing and problem solving skills, which in turn all leads to higher academic success. Immersion students have a wider range of career opportunities, display more creativity and empathy.

Our program embraces the 90:10 immersion approach, where your child will spend 90% of their day in the target language(s) and 10% in English. Research shows that students who are in a 50:50 immersion environment vs. 90:10 immersion environment, leave with the same level of English skills, but are less developed in the target language. As such, 90:10 is the best way to ensure success in both languages. Both groups test higher on English tests than students coming from a 100% English program…wild…we know.

Our curriculum is inspired by Montessori, a hands-on, culture rich and self-directed learning approach designed to promote individualism and curiosity. Students at Minerva school will be provided with a comprehensive and well-rounded curriculum, targeted to teach cultural competency and global awareness. In addition, our students will study math, reading and writing, geography, botany, science, art, music, in the target language. Children will work towards becoming bi/trilingual and bi/triliterate, specifically with an oral and written foundation in Mandarin (Traditional) and/or Spanish.

Our school will offer programs for Toddlers (18m-2y), Preschool (2-5y) and Kindergarten (5-6y).

We will begin the enrollment process for in Fall 2025. We always go through our waitlisted families first - so we highly recommend touring our current location (Culver City Montessori), to get an idea of what our program has to offer. Keep in mind - you’ll be applying to the Minerva School for any enrollment January 2026 onwards!
